The Role

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Review month, quarter and year-end financial reporting
-Prepare audit schedules and packages
-Assist in budget forecasting and expense recoveries
-Review management fee calculations, owner distributions, accounting and administration fees
-Provide Yardi and AVID software support, training and implement accounting and software procedures
-Preparing monthly financial for office buildings and two corporate entities
-Budget preparation and writing monthly actual-to-budget variance commentary
-Work with outside auditors
-Assist property managers on operating expense reimbursements, rent roll, collections, setting up new tenants and charges, analyzing expenses, recording monthly accrual adjustments
-Calculate and record straight-line rent and other GAAP adjustments
-Prepare and monitor the monthly closing calendar and ensure closing deadlines are communicated and met
-Ensure all journal entries are accurately recorded and properly supported
-Review monthly account reconciliations and analysis

REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
-Minimum 7 years experience in Accounting in a Real Estate environment
-Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role
-Thorough knowledge of GAAP
-Advanced knowledge of Excel
-Advanced knowledge of Yardi required
-Strong user of Microsoft Office

GIIRS (the Global Impact Investing Ratings System) a project of B Lab, will provide impact investors with ratings for the social and environmental impact (but not the financial performance) of companies and funds.
